Andrew Gardiner, BVM&S, Cert SAS, MSc, PhD, MRCVS, is a Veterinary Clinical Lecturer at University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He is also the author of First Aid for Dogs.
Maggie Raynor is a sought-after animal illustrator. She trained in sculpture at Sheffield College of Art and moved on to study print-making at the Royal College of Art. She lives in Sheffield, England.

I think this book would be most useful for vet techs but dog breeders and trainers would ...

After I was shown an xray of my dog's abdomen at the vet's office I realized I don't have a clear idea of where the organs are in a dog. The book includes detailed drawings of the bones, muscles, internal organs, blood vessels, and nerves. For the skull the book shows variation in head shapes (think bulldog versus greyhound). Although it is overly detailed for the typical dog owner, I find it interesting because I teach human anatomy and I am just learning where everything is located in a dog. I think this book would be most useful for vet techs but dog breeders and trainers would probably also find it useful.

For veterinary students

This book is best suited for veterinary students. It was written for vet students in mind, and has tips on how to study and remember different parts of a dog's body. For the average pet owner wanting to learn more about Fido's inner workings or just to communicate better with their veterinarian, however, this book is probably too technical and goes into too much detail. We returned it.

Really great Dog Anatomy Workbook!

This is an incredible book!! I teach canine massage therapy certification programs and am switching to this anatomy book the next time I offer my training. It is comprehensive, yet easy to understand. My current students looked at the copy that I ordered and several of them are planning on ordering it as well!
